ABOUT ME

What Therapy Looks Like With Me

As a therapist with advanced training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT), I help couples & individuals change their negative cycles, create a coherent narrative and deepen their emotional connection with themselves and others.

We work together to get under surface issues to understand better what is driving the hurt or misunderstandings.

Your relationships matter. I believe they can be better than ever.

In our sessions, we will slow down and get under the issues to the stories and emotions that are driving frustration & disconnection & build an understanding through experience that changes future interactions.

My Training & Approach

I am a licensed therapist & supervisor holding over 20 years of experience working in ministry and 14 years in the field of therapy.

With a living room style, I engage with clients by combining compassion, humor and insight.

In the therapeutic process, I empower the client to engage their patterns of living and thinking to bring about change.

Specifically, I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desentization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma.

My focus has been with individuals & couples in the areas of depression and anxiety, marital/relationship issues, personal development, grief, sexual issues and crisis of faith/spiritual formation.

I earned my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA and my Bachelor of Arts from Bethel University in Saint Paul, MN.

Sources of Continuing Growth

Honored to be a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICCEFT) and The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

As I continue to pursue the adventure of learning, I am currently working toward a certificate in the Clinical Applications of Mindsight & Interpersonal Neurobiology.

My Home World

My husband Jeremey and I have been married for fifteen years and have two beautiful children. I am a big fan of hiking, yoga, reading and podcasts.

All the Answers You Seek, In One Place

Home: FAQ

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

I understand that some clients need other arrangements in order for therapy to occur therefore, I have a limited number of reduced fee slots available. Please check with me prior to scheduling for availability.

WHAT IS THE LENGTH & FEE OF A THERAPY SESSION?

50 minute session $180

WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

Sessions take place via a video platform. Prior to our session, I will send you a link to enter the waiting room for our session.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

I do not bill insurance directly, but this doesn't necessarily mean that therapy isn't covered. PPO insurance plans often reimburse you a portion of the fee depending on the plan you have. Check with your insurance company to find out what percentage they will reimburse you for an "out-of-network mental health provider." You are responsible for fee on the day of your session and I can supply you with a detailed receipt that includes all the coding information that the insurance company needs in order to properly reimburse you.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
